Last month, I shared how we work at Ask My Wardrobe. The main idea was simple – we don’t build random features just because they sound good, we build based on how people actually use the app and what they ask for.
This month, that idea became even more important as we watched how people used Ask My Wardrobe in real situations.
Use AI to Help, Not Decide
A lot of people use AI to create full outfits for them. I understand why, but I do not fully agree with that approach.
Style is personal. It comes from your taste, your mood, your closet, what fits you, and the way you want to be seen.
When AI makes every choice, fashion starts to lose the part that makes it interesting. People can get pushed toward the same kind of look, even when they don’t like it.
Our goal is not to replace your taste. It is to help you see your options more clearly, so you can make better decisions yourself.
What We Learned From Users
We noticed that users love matching new items with clothes they already own before buying.
But they are also using the app in more creative ways than we expected.
People are putting together full outfits with pants, sweaters, glasses, bags, necklaces, watches, and other accessories. Small details can completely change how an outfit feels, and users want to see those details before they decide.
Instead of spending hours trying to imagine whether something works, they can test hundreds of combinations in minutes.
There is where AI feels useful. Not as the stylist making the final call, but as a tool that makes experimenting easier and faster.
What’s Coming Next
Since people are creating more looks, they also need a better way to save, organize, and compare them.
We already have an outfit planning feature, but our next goal is to make it much more simpler. We are also improving the digital wardrobe interface so it feels cleaner and easier to use.
We want Ask My Wardrobe to feel personal, not like another tool telling you what to wear.
The goal is simple. Save people time, help them make better outfit decisions, and still keep their style completely unique.
